What you should know about STELLENHOF BED & BREAKFAST

Surrounded by an exquisite bird-filled garden, our outdoor lapa and pool area is the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy a beverage with friends or family. We commit ourselves to make your visit a memorable one. Book one of our luxury earth bag domes in our permaculture garden for a unique experience, or one of our classic Cape Dutch suites. There's lots to do in the area from the longest double zip line in Africa for the adrenalin junkies, to big 5 viewing and tours through our dairy farm. This is a road which leads through the Addo Elephant Park. Just tell the security people that you are passing through. After the second gate you will find our entrance on the right hand side. Sir Percy Fitzpatrick author of Jock of the Bushveld, got together a group of people to buy land in the Addo area. Some didn’t stay long for the promised amount of water was not delivered at that stage. This farm was originally designed to grow oranges and grapefruit. The house was designed to stay cool during the hot Addo Summers. Mr McBean was a perfectionist in every way, whether it was building his house, running the farm or buying antiques. He had a love for Polo, so he started a Polo Ground in Addo which still exists today. The farm was sold in 1960 and traded owners a three more times. In 1999 we (The Groenhof Family) bought the property and decided to share the rich history, beautiful landscape and amazing wildlife with our very special guests. Stellenhof started off as a vegetable farm with a big variety of crops including potatoes, onions, butternuts, chicory, cabbage, lucern and maize. The maize was used to produce silage for the Nanaga Farm Trust with whom we started share-milking in 2012 and that was the beginning of the Stellenhof Dairy Trust. In less than a year we could expand the farm, add a second rotary and milk 1000 cows. Amazing opportunities, some tough challenges and a hardworking, dedicated team made it possible for Stellenhof Dairy to be one of South Africa’s most trusted and respected dairies.
